However we can restore your fireplace or fit any spares in our workshops (more). Finding spare parts is not an exact science, and you may have to make do with the item of the nearest fit. In the nineteenth century there were hundreds of foundries making hundreds of designs, with no real practice of standardisation. Hook-on or slide-in bars can be difficult to fit and you may have to adapt them. For solid fuel fires we recommend in most cases that the front bars are held in place for safety reasons. For gas effect fires, the bars can be free-standing.
